most underrated band on the planet–gomez

Multi instrumentalists, talented and unique vocalists, song writers, bloody good live and more or less completely ignored in their native UK.

google doodle

Google ‘doodles’ pop up on the search engine’s page from time to time and this one, celebrating American illustrator and animator, Winsor McCay has got to be one of the best they’ve ever done. For info on the background of the artist head here

road bike party

This isn’t the place for bike posts. This is the blog for pictures and arty piffle but in this instance I’m going to break my own rules and post this video. It’s bloomin’ amazing. Mr Ashton (the gentleman on the bike) is quite a well known fellow on the mountain biking scene, specifically trials – perhaps not as famous as Danny Madskills and not as ‘gnarly’ (up until now) as Akrigg – but this piece of film, all being equal, should see him receive some larger recognition. To say the level of riding and ball size required is impressive is understating it, I’m not sure what you can say about the fact that he’s doing it all on a road bike, except – fucking hell!

And if you need some arty piffle, it’s a rather well put together piece of film, as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve became the go to guy for messily drawn bike illustrations. Suits me. This is a detail of a piece commissioned by Enesco Giftware.
