old homes and sadness

I always feel a certain sense of sadness when looking at old photographs, it might be a relative no longer with us or simply a childhood never to return. A few of us in the office were just showing each other our old houses and there it was again, a slight sadness in knowing that, despite physicists most confusing claims, time is indeed linear and it only goes the one way. So here are the 3 residences at which I spent my Leeds years. Good memories which will fade, here's to all the people I share them with.

Face in rock

Was just sent a link to a rather nice time laps video here.
Liked this shot which appears to show a profile in rock.

video

A friend and myself went up a hill this past weekend, to play on bikes like kids. I took my camera as it was sunny, as it turns out I didn't take single photo but did use the camera to film a few little sections which we watched back to get an idea of what we were doing right and what we were doing wrong. In my case the scales were certainly tipping one way more than the other. None of the videos are worth posting but here are a couple of little screen grabs for posterity.

OUCH

Fabien Barel really isn't enjoying much luck when it comes to the racing season. Out last year with a knee injury weeks before the start and now, this year, a (really) broken leg. Get well soon Fab.

Illustration Friday - fearless

Got this weeks Illustration Friday done super quick after getting a commission completed half a day early and having some office time to kill - fare to say I'm feeling a little bit smug with myself.

Cycling active magazine

A recent 2 piece commission for Cycling Active Magazine about being thin not necessarily meaning being fit. Now that's an idea I can get behind.

thumbnails

Thought I'd post some recent thumbnails for a magazine commission, I always enjoy seeing this stage of other peoples work, when the piece is done I'll post it up.

hidden layers

Just going through some photoshop files and started wondering how much more interesting some pieces might be when the layers are a mixed up and shown in the wrong combination?

The new Santa Cruz V10 with Carbon rims and frame. It looks like the Syndicate's domination is set to continue.

These things must be noted with great satisfaction

An esteemed colleague's mileometer recently rolled a lovely symmetrical number over. He was in traffic and as such was unable to get his camera until 2.9. Imagine our collected joy had the camera been present for 0.9 making it the gorgeous 9090909. Can you imagine?
